A Word About Allegro

ALLEGRO aims to produce plays which encompass the vast spectrum of comedy and tragedy - classical and modern - and to offer its audiences the rich tapestry of theatre so that it will be experienced as a relevant, dynamic and living force, connected to our past and present and reaching into our future. A true, vital reflection of the human condition, ALLEGRO is a not-for-profit company which offers future professionals opportunities to perform in productions of classical plays. The company was founded in Montreal in 1988 by John Tomasino and Christine Stewart. Since its inception ALLEGRO has produced more than twenty productions and sponsored three major professional Master Class Workshops given by two of Europe's top theatre professionals. ALLEGRO also runs a Theatre School for young people, the Youngest Shakespeare Company. Since moving to Toronto, ALLEGRO has been incorporated as a registered non-profit charity with an official new name: New Allegro Theatre Inc.
